Plantar Fasciitis
(Radial/Focused)

Plantarfasciitis is when you develop inflammation of the tendon (plantar fascia) which runs along the undearneath of your foot. The tendon connects your heelbone to your toes. This can cause extreme pain underneath your foot, which can make it very difficult to put your foot to the ground, let alone walk.

When plantar fasciitis is at its worst, the most pain would very likely be first thing in the morning, when you take your first steps from getting out of bed. PF generally occurs due to wearing uncomfortable shoes that maybe do not fit well or do not provide the right support that our feet require. This couldn't be more true during the summer months.

Other major causes are heavy impact exercise, such as long distance running on the pavements or being quite overweight. Both of these can be a major contribution to developing PF.Plantar fasciitis can be very hard to get rid of. Sometimes stretching, rest and even massage can struggle to make a difference.

We need to walk on our feet every single day and if you can't put weight on a foot that is suffering with PF, then you will not only suffer with pain in your foot but you will likely develop weight bearing issues that in turn cause other ailments. These could likely be PF in the other foot, as that would be dealing with a lot more load on it but also quite possibly knee, hip or back pain, especially true for the longer you leave your PF without seeking intervention.
