Shockwave Therapy has been a game changer in the medical industry, targeting specific pain in tendons, bones, joints and muscles. It is very safe and non-invasive and in some cases an excellent alternative to having steroid injections and/or surgery. Focused shockwave is more expensive than Radial shockwave - due to the fact that the cost of the machine and the maintenance is much more expensive. Focused shockwave delivers a much higher amount of energy into the damaged affected tissue and therefore requires less sessions than Radial shockwave.

Shockwave therapy has been used since the 1980's where it was developed for the treatment of non-surgical removal of kidney stones. Fast forward 40 years, and it is now used for a wide range of MSK conditions, as well as aesthetic issues - such as wrinkle and cellulite removal.

It is an evidenced based treatment that involves passing low energy pressure waves that are delivered into damaged tissue areas to increase blood flow and stimulate repair, whilst reducing pain and helping your body to restart its own natural healing regeneration process. It is now even used by high profile professional sports teams.
